To commemorate Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav and Army day, the National Service Scheme(NSS) unit of University of Jammu, sponsored by Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports,Govt.of India
jointly organized a Webinar on 15th of January, 2022 at 3:30 PM via Google meet. Decorated soldier of 1971 War, Col. Dr. Virendra Sahi , VrC was invited as Chief Guest to deliver Motivational speech for the NSS volunteers and staff of Jammu University. Col Virender Kumar Sahi was engaged in a close combat hand to hand fight with overwhelming strength of Pakistanis, who encircled and attacked Indian Post of Laleali in Chaamb Sector of J&K . It
was display of raw courage and leadership , as young Col Sahi beat back the enemy attack against heavy odds. He was severely wounded and was assumed dead, but survived through a miracle to further serve his motherland. Col Sahi covered the Leadership aspects in his Motivational talk, which infused patriotic values and ethos in the students.
