Till recently these children were part of a happy family. Suddenly, the Pandemic snatched the sole earning member of these families , leaving the children to fend for themselves. A list of such affected families was requested from Chairperson, Child Welfare Committee by National Corruption Control and Human Welfare Organization ( NCCHWO). Thereafter, members of NCCHWO got in touch with Rotary Club Jammu Elite and Rotary Club, Jammu Tawi to provide help to these families.. All members , without any hesitation, decided to help out these families, who are presently in distress. Though ,Govt has made provisions for help to such families, but it will take some
time,before these families start getting the sanctioned aid from the Govt on a regular basis. Some of these families were in urgent need of the ration. To overcome the crisis, Home delivery of the ration was made immediately, by NCCHWO. Therafter, Ration packets for balance of the families were handed over for distribution, to Mrs Shalini Sharma, Chairperson , Child Welfare Committee . Various NGOs have also shown willingness to adopt these families. Mrs Shalini Sharma expressed gratitude for the simple programme, conducted in a dignified manner.Brigadier Harcharan Singh said that our society is very prompt to help and support the needy children in distress. Rotary Club Jammu Tawi was represented by the President ,Mr Raman Wazir and Secretary,Mr Ramnik Singh, besides others. Rotary Club Elite was represented by Ms Meena Jaggi ,Nidhi Mahajen and Paramjit Kaur. The contribution from NCCHWO team was made by Giat Nandan Jain, Ankush Gupta and Advocate Supriya Singh.The conduct of event and presentation of vote of thanks was done by Ms Pooja Malhotra. The event was concluded with plantation of trees ,to highlight the problem of Global warming, degradation of environment and Water crisis.More trees will be planted in future to encourage Afforestation.
